A legacy of leadership and care

It is with great sadness that HRS remembers Barbara Hinkle-Azzara, a respected leader, mentor, and friend whose impact on the Health Information Management profession and our organization will not be forgotten.

Barbara joined HRS in 2013 after a successful career in healthcare leadership, bringing deep industry expertise, professionalism, and a commitment to excellence. Throughout her tenure, she served in several leadership roles, ultimately becoming Senior Vice President of HIM Operations.

Barbara was known not only for her knowledge and leadership, but also for the genuine care she showed others. She was a thoughtful mentor, a trusted colleague, and someone who made people feel valued through her encouragement, support, and recognition of their accomplishments. Her integrity, kindness, and dedication earned the respect and admiration of colleagues throughout the industry.

Barbara’s legacy lives on through the many professionals she mentored, the teams she strengthened, and the relationships she built over the course of her remarkable career.

We extend our deepest condolences to Barbara’s family, friends, and loved ones. We are grateful for the privilege of having worked alongside her and will remember her with gratitude, admiration, and affection.
