HRS is seeking experienced remote inpatient/outpatient coders with ICD-9-CM, CPT/HCPCS experience. Evaluation & Management Levels (facility and/or practice-based) coding expertise for coding Emergency Department (ED), ancillary and/or diagnostic service patient and/or Professional Fee work types. Strong trauma coding experience and medium-to-large hospital experience preferred. Independent work management, ability to meet changing client requirements, comfort with basic PC and health information technology, and attention to detail are required for success in this role. Ability to toggle between IP/OP charts a plus.

Job requirements and preferences:

  • Requires a minimum of three (3) years of full-time healthcare coding experience in one or more areas related to work assignment (i.e., inpatient, same day surgery, ED)
  • Advanced education may be substituted for one (1) year of experience; this exemption does not apply to pediatric coding requirement
  • RHIA, RHIT, CCA, CCS, CCS-P, CPC, or CPC-H required
  • ICD-10 training certificate preferred
